Nineteen entrepreneurial teams, composed of University of Alabama faculty and students, will compete for approximately $100,000 in start-up funding and in-kind services Friday during UA’s annual AIME Day.
There may not be any business sharks, or other types, circling within Palmer Lake, but when some 30 University of Alabama innovators pitch their technologies, inventions and ideas to potential investors in UA’s nearby AIME building, real money will be at stake.
An innovative method for stripping greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide from industrial emissions is potentially cheaper and more efficient than current methods, according to a United States patent based on research by Dr. Jason E. Bara, assistant professor of chemical and biological engineering at The University of Alabama.
