UA Names Director of Hudson Strode Program in Renaissance Studies

Early modern literary scholar Dr. Michelle M. Dowd has been named Hudson Strode Professor of English and the new director of The University of Alabama’s Hudson Strode Program in Renaissance Studies.

UA’s Hudson Strode Program to Host Film Series at Bama Theatre

The Hudson Strode program in Renaissance Studies in the English department of The University of Alabama will kick off a monthly Shakespeare on Film series at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15 at the Bama Theatre in downtown Tuscaloosa. The series, which will continue through April, features a range of films with Shakespearian themes. It will include the popular, contemporary film “Ten Things I Hate about You” as well as such classics as”West Side Story” and lesser-known but equally relevant works including ” The Bad Sleep Well.”
