The University of Alabama College of Communication and Information Sciences, along with the journalism department, has named award-winning author Dr. Harvey Jackson III winner of the 2016 Clarence Cason Award in Nonfiction Writing.
The National Communication Association named The University of Alabama public speaking program as one of the 2015 Programs of Distinction. The award, given by the organization’s basic course division, honored the College of Communication and Information Sciences’ program for its outstanding efforts to cultivate student excellence in oral communication.
Dr. Kim Bissell, a professor in The University of Alabama’s College of Communication and Information Sciences, is the recipient of the 2015 Blackmon-Moody Outstanding Professor Award.
The University of Alabama College of Communication and Information Sciences will receive a diversity award from Dr. Lori Bergen, president of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication, Wednesday, Nov. 4.
“Breaking Barriers with Bilingual TV: The Alabama TV Story” will take place at 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 12 in Gorgas Library room 205 on The University of Alabama campus. The event is free and open to the public.
