For the fifth consecutive year, The University of Alabama has been named to the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll with Distinction, recognizing the University’s strong commitment to bettering communities through service and service-learning partnerships.

Two pairs of University Honors 101 Moral Forum students at The University of Alabama will compete for $10,000 in scholarships in the final round of the ninth annual James P. Hayes Jr. Moral Forum debate tournament at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27, in UA’s Ferguson Theatre. The event is free and open to the public.

UA to Screen Documenting Justice Films at Bama Theatre

The University of Alabama Center for Ethics & Social Responsibility and the UA department of telecommunication and film will host the eighth annual Documenting Justice film screening at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, at the Bama Theatre in downtown Tuscaloosa.

UA Offers Community Development Lecture by Author, City Planner

The University of Alabama Honors College and Center for Ethics and Social Responsibility will host a lecture by author Jeff Speck at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4, at the Dinah Washington Cultural Arts Center. Speck, an internationally known city planner and architectural designer, will be discussing the importance of walkability to a downtown community.
