2008 New Student Football Tickets - FAQ

SEASON TICKET PACKAGES FOR NEW STUDENTS

Do I have to buy tickets during my summer orientation session?
No. You can go online to buy your tickets any time after 8 a.m. on June 2. However, since seats are limited, you should place your order as quickly as possible.

Will new students choose a split ticket package again this year?
New students (including transfer students and graduate students) entering The University of Alabama during Summer Orientation can choose between a 3 or 4 game package.

What should I do if I don’t receive a confirmation page when I order my tickets for home games?
If you don’t receive a confirmation page via email, or you have concerns or questions about your ticket order, call the Ticket Office at 205-348-2262, or by email at ticketoffice@ia.ua.edu.

If I buy tickets now, but do not enroll in UA in the Fall, can I still use or sell my tickets?
No. Access to home games is transferred to a valid Action Card on a game-by-game basis. If you are not eligible to attend games in the fall, you will receive a refund for your tickets.

Can my parents or a friend go online and order my tickets for me?
Individuals who place student ticket orders must be able to provide all the information that is required on the ticket order form, including a credit card number and Campus-Wide Identification Number. Students are encouraged to protect their secure information.

Can I sell my student ticket to other students?
Using the Action Card is designed to make access to the stadium a quicker, more efficient process, and helps ensure that as many students as possible can attend a game. Since access to the game will be granted on the Action Card, only students with a valid Action Card can use a student ticket. If you choose to sell your ticket, the other student must pay you directly. Then, you MUST go online to transfer the game privilege to the other student’s Action Card. Tickets can be transferred to another student or donated to a student ticket pool on a game-by-game basis when the football seasons starts.

Can I sell my student tickets to non-students as general admission?
If you sell your ticket to a non-student, you must go to the Athletic Department Ticket Office the week of the game (between Monday and Thursday), and pay the difference between the student ticket price and the regular ticket price. The Ticket Office will issue you a paper student guest ticket at that time. Please consider allowing another student to attend if you do not plan to use your ticket privilege.

Can I sell my entire student ticket package to someone else?
You cannot sell or convert the entire package at one time. An online student ticket exchange process will allow students to transfer their ticket privileges to other students or donate to a student ticket pool on a game-by-game basis. If you choose to sell your ticket, the other student must pay you directly. Then, you MUST go online to transfer the game privilege to the other student’s Action Card. Since student tickets are in such demand, we encourage all students who do not plan to use their ticket to enable other students to attend the game.

If you sell your ticket to a non-student, you must go to the Athletic Department Ticket Office the week of the game (between Monday and Thursday), and pay the difference between the student ticket price and the regular ticket price. The Ticket Office will issue you a paper student guest ticket at that time.

Can I buy individual tickets or ticket packages at the Ticket Office?
Tickets for new students are available only online at http://www.rolltide.com. You will be able to buy tickets from another student through the online ticket privilege exchange that will be available beginning in August.

Can I buy student tickets, then sell them to non-students?
Student tickets must be sold on a game-by-game basis. If you sell your ticket to a non-student, you must go to the Athletic Department Ticket Office the week of the game, and pay the difference between the student ticket price and the regular ticket price. The Ticket Office will issue you a paper student guest ticket at that time. Because there is such a demand for student tickets, the Athletic Department may decide to limit the number of tickets that a student can convert to student guest tickets.

If I want to sell or give my tickets to another student, do I have to sell/give the entire package or can I do it one game at a time?
You cannot sell or give the entire package at one time. Ticket privileges can be transferred to another student or converted into a student guest ticket on a game-by-game basis only. If you sell your ticket, the other student must pay you directly. Then, you MUST go online to transfer the game privilege to the other student’s Action Card.

Can I transfer my ticket to another student on the day of the game?
Yes, you can transfer your ticket privilege to another student online up until game time on home football game days.

How much will it cost to convert my student ticket privilege to a student guest ticket?
The price for a student guest ticket is the difference between the cost of a student ticket and a regular admission ticket. For the 2008 football season, this will be $35 for Tulane and Western Kentucky, $40 for Arkansas State, $50 for Kentucky, Ole Miss, and Miss State, and $60 for Auburn. You must go to the Athletic Department Ticket Office the week of the game (between Monday and Thursday) to convert to a student guest ticket. The Ticket Office will issue you a paper student guest ticket at that time.

Do I have to convert my ticket to a student guest ticket the week of the game, or can I do it earlier? Can I do it the day of the game?
Students who want to convert their tickets to student guest must go to the Athletic Ticket Office between Monday and Thursday the week of the game. You cannot convert your student ticket to a student guest ticket on game day or prior to the Monday before the game.

What happens if I lose my Action Card, even though I received confirmation that I have a ticket for that game?
The Action Card office will be available to replace lost Action Cards starting 1 hour prior to the opening of student stadium entrance gates and ending at the start of the third quarter. More information will be available on the Action Card Web site in August.

What happens if I get to the stadium and can’t get in, even though I have a valid Action Card and received a confirmation?
Action Card personnel will be onsite at the student entrance gates to assist you.

Will I need to bring written confirmation that I bought tickets to the game to be able to get in?
No. Your ticket privilege will be transferred to your Action Card on a game-by-game basis. Action Card personnel will be onsite at the student entrance gates if there are problems with access.

Will I receive confirmation that access to a game has been transferred to my/the other student’s Action Card?
Yes, you will receive an email confirmation from the Action Card Web site when you transfer or donate tickets to the student ticket pool.

Will the SGA host its ticket swap again this year?
A new process will allow students to transfer their ticket privilege to another student or donate their ticket to a student ticket pool. Additional information will be available soon.

Will more student seats be available this year?
The same number of seats will be available. To maintain (or possibly grow) the number of seats in the student section, students need to use their ticket privileges or give the privilege to another student.

Do I have to go online each week and look for tickets to that specific game, or can I put in a request for all games at the beginning of the season?
The online ticket pool will provide assistance to students who are looking for tickets. If no tickets are available in the pool, you can add your name to the waiting list for that specific game.  If a ticket becomes available for that game, you will receive an email confirmation indicating you have received a ticket. You cannot have more than one ticket privilege to any one game.

Will there be a waiting list for students who want tickets? Or do you have to be online at the right time?
If no tickets are available in the pool, you can add your name to the waiting list for that specific game.  If a ticket becomes available for that game, you will receive an email confirmation indicating you have received a ticket.

How will you know that you successfully transferred your ticket to another student?
Once you have completed the online ticket exchange, both the ticket giver and recipient will receive an email confirmation. Remember, if you choose to sell your ticket, the other student must pay you directly. Then, you MUST go online to transfer the game privilege to the other student’s Action Card.

Is there a confirmation deadline for transferring a ticket?
You can transfer your ticket privilege to another student online up until game time on home football game days.

Will there be contact information for the students who are buying/selling/swapping tickets?
No contact information will be provided on the email confirming that the ticket privilege has been transferred to/from your Action Card.

So, how do I get my money if I transfer (“sell”) my ticket privilege to another student?
If you choose to sell your ticket, the other student must pay you directly. Then, you MUST go online to transfer the game privilege to the other student’s Action Card.

AWAY GAMES

How many student tickets will be available for away games?
Approximately 12 percent of the University’s allotment for away games is allocated for student tickets.  For example, the University will receive approximately 9,500 tickets for the Tennessee game; 1,140 will be allocated for students.

How will I know if I have gotten tickets for an away game?
Students will receive notification via email from the Ticket Office after all orders have been processed.

Will I receive a paper ticket for away games?
Yes. You must pick up your paper tickets for away games at the Athletic Ticket Office between Aug. 20 and Aug. 22.

Can I sell my away tickets to anybody, or only other students?
Since demand is so high for student tickets, we encourage you to sell or give them to other students.

How will orders for away games be filled?  First-come? Or number of hours of credit?
Orders for away tickets are filled based on number of credit hours, highest to lowest, until the total allotment for student tickets has been used for each away game. Since the allotment per game and the number of orders placed vary, there is no predetermined cut-off point for lowest credit hours. All students, including graduate students, will be ranked by credit hours earned.

How will refunds be determined for away games?
Tickets for away games are allocated based on credit hours, from highest to lowest. Refunds are processed after the allotment for student tickets have been fulfilled.

How do I request a refund? Will I automatically get a refund if my order for away games is not fulfilled?
You will automatically receive a refund if your order is not fulfilled. Refunds are processed after the allotment for student tickets have been fulfilled.

Always remember to check the Crimson Calendar for all the week’s events.
