UA School of Music Announces 2001-2002 Celebrity
Series Schedule
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The School of Music in the College of Arts and
Sciences at The University of Alabama has announced its upcoming
2001-2002 Celebrity Series concert schedule.
This year, four internationally renowned musical artists will perform
at the Moody Music Concert Hall on the UA campus. From the ever-popular
king'singers to the Orion String Quartet, the UA campus and West
Alabama community will be sure to once again have access to some
of the finest music in the world - all experienced within one of
the region's most beautiful concert halls.
Each year we put forth exhaustive efforts in trying to attract
and deliver the performances we hope our audience wants to experience,
said Bruce Murray, music director at UA. This year is certainly
no exception, as we have brought back king'singers - a group that
has proven to be a huge hit with West Alabama in the past. And we
have lined up many other performances ranging in taste from piano
to string music. Each and every performance will delight our audience
with a different flavor of music, each demonstrating the highest
in quality and showmanship. I am excited for our campus and local
community to have this opportunity to enjoy these wonderful sounds.
Season ticket subscriptions to this year's Celebrity Series are
$72 and $55 - unchanged from last year's reduced price offerings.
Single event tickets will again be value-priced at $22 and $15 for
the general public, and $7 for students with valid IDs. All performances
will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Moody Music Concert Hall. For more
information about ticket purchases, contact the School of Music
box office at 205/348-7111.
