Foster still taking steps to renovation

Foster Auditorium - the site of former Gov. George Wallace's Stand in the Schoolhouse Door - is still waiting on its restoration project to begin. Pam Parker, associate vice president for advancement, said the building's renovation project is still in the silent phase of a fundraising campaign, which will go public in 2009. Until then, the University will keep the building in stable condition…

Jewish center plans move, lease deal with UA
Tuscaloosa News – Sept. 27
A deal is in the works to lease land on campus for a new Jewish student center because University of Alabama officials plan to buy the current building and raze it. The deal to lease land to the B’nai B’rith Hillel Foundation on the eastern side of campus, close to other student religious organizations was set for trustee approval earlier this month. An agreement was not reached in time for the meeting, however, said Cathy Andreen, director of media relations…

Symposium to discuss religion

Oshinsky was invited to speak by Kari Frederickson, associate history professor, and the Summersell Center for the South's lecture series. Speaker talks about health insurance
