UA gets 153 new full-time professors

…Steinberg is one of 153 full-time professors added to the university this fall, bringing the total number of full-time professors on campus to 1,075. That’s 10 percent more than a year ago, and the first significant progress in beefing up the faculty in the wake of booming student enrollment. Included in the numbers are 32 new positions created by a $2 million budget line item. A planned dorm at the University of Alabama will be nearly twice the size and cost than originally thought. A UA trustee committee approved beefing up the second phase of Ridgecrest Residential Community to handle the rapidly growing student body.
