Recruiting takes on regional flair

Students will pay more and employees will earn more this fall at the University of Alabama under a plan approved by trustees Friday. Trustees approved raising tuition 8 percent and providing a 6 percent, merit-based pay raise for faculty, staff and graduate assistants.

Bishop gets standing ovation from GOP

…University of Alabama political scientist William Stewart said Bishop’s blow has given Alabama “a bad image" at the same time the governor is in France trying to recruit industry. “I’m surprised he’s being treated like a hero," said Stewart, whose father served in the Alabama House for eight years.
