Magazine puts UA over AU in annual ranking
Birmingham News – Aug. 17
The University of Alabama nudged ahead of Auburn in this year's U.S. News & World Report's annual ranking of colleges, with Alabama at No. 42 and Auburn No. 45 among public universities. Last year, the two schools were tied. University of Alabama President Robert Witt said the ranking confirms what the university is seeing as it attracts an increasing number of students. "Our focus is on growth with quality, being the university of choice for the best and brightest students, and ensuring that every student's educational needs are met," Witt said.
