Melanie Miller, a staff member and administrator with a background in counseling and social work, has been named executive director of Crimson Care in the Division of Student Affairs at the University of Alabama. UA Students and Faculty Can Now Get Emergency Information on Their Cell Phones

University of Alabama students and faculty can now sign up to receive emergency announcements through cell phone text messages. The free service was put into place last week. It relays campus emergency and severe weather messages.
