The University of Alabama will kick off the 2007 football season with its annual Fan Day on Sunday at Bryant-Denny Stadium…At 2:30, the Tide will hold an open practice….The team, coaching staff and head coach Nick Saban will be available for autographs on the field for 45 minutes…

UA book to raise scholarship money

Escambia County's chapter of the University of Alabama Alumni Association will be selling copies of a new coffee table book about the university to help raise money for the local chapter's scholarship fund. The new book “Crimson” - the first of its kind for the university - will feature photos by senior UA photographer Chip Cooper and others, as well as quotes from well-known graduates including Bart Starr, E.O. Wilson, Sela Ward, Winston Groom and Gay Talese…

Byrne seeks ban on double dipping
