UA to Present Dance Alabama! Oct. 16-19

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- The University of Alabama department of theatre and dance is presenting Dance Alabama! featuring choreography by UA dance students in performances at Morgan Auditorium Tuesday, Oct. 16 through Thursday, Oct. 18 at 7:30 p.m. and Friday, Oct. 19 at 5:30 p.m.

Dance Alabama! showcases the best work of undergraduate choreographers with the guidance of the award-winning UA dance faculty.

In this show with the theme Poetry in Motion, old meets new in fantastic combinations of traditional ballet and modern dance, conveying messages of love and life with explosive energy. Set to the music of The Arcade Fire, Melissa Etheridge and Lil’ Wayne, you never know what you will find on the stage during this extraordinary display of fresh, new talent.

To make room for the new Crimson Ride Transit System, parking is no longer permitted on Stadium Drive or Marr’s Spring Road. However, free parking is available on the side and rear of the theatre building and in the ten Hoor Parking Deck # 1, located at the corner of Stadium Drive and Marr’s Spring Road. Additionally, patrons are welcome to temporarily pull in front of the theatre to drop off members of their party.

Tickets are $13 for adults, $11 for UA faculty, staff and senior citizens, and $9 for students (all listed ticket prices include a $1 ticket service fee). Tickets can be purchased at the Box Office in Rowand-Johnson Hall Monday through Friday, noon-5 p.m., online at www.crimsonartstickets.com, or by calling 205/348-3400.
