Everywoman Book Club to Meet Oct. 25

TUSCALOOSA , Ala. -- The Everywoman Book Club, sponsored by The University of Alabama Women’s Resource Center, will meet to discuss “Veil of Roses” by Laura Fitzgerald at noon on Thursday, Oct. 25 at the Globe Restaurant in Northport.

“Veil of Roses” follows the journey of Tamilia Soroush, an Iranian who is given a one-way ticket to America by her parents on her 25th birthday. Soroush first experiences the freedom of an American girl but eventually must find an Iranian-born husband before her visa expires. She faces the double-whammy, having fallen in love with her friend Ike, a young American man for whom she has forbidden feelings.

“This is a novel of sheer emotional force, which will draw on the average human’s heart strings,” says one critic.

All members of the community and campus are welcome to attend The Everywoman Book Club meeting.

The Globe Restaurant is located in downtown historic Northport. For more information, please contact the Women’s Resource Center at 205/348-5040.
