UA Campus Programming Council Accepting Fall Applications

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- The University of Alabama Campus Programming Council will hold its first meeting of the fall semester on Friday, Sept. 29.

The CPC was established in 2005 by the UA Office of Community Affairs to serve in an advisory capacity to support meaningful programming that will increase the multicultural competence of the campus community.

Two types of applications can be submitted to the CPC for consideration:

-Proposals for new or innovative multicultural events can include a range of activities such as lectures, films, performing arts and photography exhibits. Applicants are required to develop partnerships with two or more groups or organizations for sponsorship of the event.

-Proposals for “campus conversations,” interdisciplinary facilitated discussions that will foster intercultural dialogue around campus, local, regional, national and global issues.

Interested faculty, staff and student organizations may submit program proposals to the CPC for review and consideration of funding. The CPC will meet approximately three times during the fall semester.

For consideration by the Sept. 29 meeting, proposals must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Sept. 28. Proposals can be left at the UA Women’s Resource Center on the 3rd floor of Russell Hall.

For more information about proposal guidelines and applications go to the link for UA Campus Programming Council at http://wrc.ua.edu or call Melanie Miller at 205/348-5040.
