TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The University of Alabama, along with
Stillman College and Shelton State Community College, will host
the Realizing the Dream-Martin Luther King Jr. 2005 Distinguished
Lecture Series featuring guest speaker Dr. K.P.S. Kamath.
Kamath, a physician and presenter focusing on civil rights, will
speak at each of the three campuses. His seminars will focus on
the philosophies of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Mahatma Gandhi
and how to apply them in everyday life.
The Tuscaloosa lecture schedule featuring Kamath includes:
-Thursday, Sept. 29, UA campus, 107 Shelby Hall, 1:30-3 p.m., “The
Philosophy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Gandhi, and its Relationship
to the Development of Consumer Activism in India.” Refreshments
will be served.
-Friday, Sept. 30, Shelton State Community College, 8:30-10 a.m.,
breakfast session, D rooms, “Nonviolent Techniques in the
21st Century.”
-Friday, Sept. 30, Stillman College, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Stinson
Auditorium, interactive workshop on “Nonviolent Techniques
in Social Reform.” Refreshments will be served.
