Monday, August 29, 2005, 9:00 a.m. Update Advisory Concerning Hurricane Katrina from The University of Alabama will close at noon today, Monday, Aug. 29, 2005 due to expected severe weather associated with Hurricane Katrina. Classes are canceled beginning at noon today. At 6 a.m. tomorrow, Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2005, officials will announce the re-opening time for Tuesday. Information will be communicated via area media, campus-wide e-mail, the ua.edu Web site, voice mail notices, and by phone at 205-348-4500. Essential personnel should check with their supervisors concerning their schedules. On-campus residence halls and apartments will remain open. Every effort will be made to provide essential services during this time. Essential personnel should check with their supervisors concerning their schedules. The University’s Emergency Response Group will continue to work with the Tuscaloosa County Emergency Management Agency to monitor the situation and provide necessary information and updates for the University community.
