TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- University of Alabama Air Force ROTC cadets are sponsoring a
Prisoner of War (POW)/Missing in Action (MIA) Memorial Week Sept. 13-17 to honor and
remember these soldiers.
- Kicking off the week will be the POW/MIA Breakfast on Monday, Sept. 13, from 6:15-7:30
a.m. in Alston Hall, room 30.
- On Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 14, there will be a changing
of the guards and a representation of a prison cell on the Ferguson Promenade.
- On Wednesday, Sept. 15, from 4:30-5:30 p.m., cadets
will be running 4.5 miles around the campus in formation with the POW/MIA flag.
This will start and finish at the Bureau of Mines Building.
- On Thursday, Sept. 16, at 7 p.m. students and cadets
will be holding a candlelight vigil memorial service and cadets will be performing
an official reveille and retreat at the Bureau of Mines Building.
- Cadets will raise the U.S flag for reveille in front
of the building at 7 a.m. and lower the flag at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 17.
