UA’s Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Hosts Scholarship Ball

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Delta Sigma Theta Sorority at The University of Alabama will hold its annual Scholarship Ball on Sunday, Feb. 19, at 7 p.m. in the Bryant Conference Center Rast Room.
Delta Sigma Theta promotes academic excellence by providing three scholarships to recipients who are recognized at the ball. Sorority members will present two $1,000 scholarships to undergraduate students and one $500 scholarship to a high school senior who were chosen for the awards based on their submissions in an essay contest.
This theme for the event will be “The Golden Ticket: Where Dreams Become Reality and Some Realities Become Dreams” with keynote speaker Cedric D. Sparks, an Alabama graduate who is executive director of the Birmingham City Division of Youth Services.Sparks will address the value of education and the importance of scholarships.
The ball will include a dinner provided by A Cutting Edge Caterers and music by local cover band Yung Vokalz Precision Grooves. Cost of the event is $20 for a single ticket, $35 for a couple and $150 for a table of eight. Go to www.sga.tix.com to buy tickets.
The Lambda Zeta Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority has served the campus and community since 1974.
