UA Wheelchair Basketball Teams Invite Fans to ‘Fill Foster Friday’ for Televised Tournament

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama men’s and women’s wheelchair basketball teams are hosting their final collegiate tournament of the season Friday-Saturday, Feb. 24-25, with opening games in Foster Auditorium.
The tournament will kick off with the first-ever wheelchair basketball games to be played in Foster Auditorium featuring a double header on Friday at 7 p.m. with the Alabama women taking on the 3rd-ranked University of Illinois, followed by the Alabama men against the 2nd-ranked Illinois men’s team. The games will be televised live on WVUA.
UA President Robert E. Witt will present the Alabama women’s team their national championship rings (from last season) after the opening game is played.
General Admission is $5 for the Friday games. UA students and children under 10 are admitted free. Tickets can be purchased at the gate Friday starting at 6 p.m.
On Saturday at 7 p.m., UA will host another double-header against the University of Wisconsin at Whitewater in the Student Recreation Center. The women’s game will be a rematch of last year’s national championship. Admission to the Saturday night games is free.
The public is invited to attend and support Alabama Wheelchair Basketball.
