TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Students from The University of Alabama department of human nutrition and hospitality management are teaming up with the Ferguson Center to organize the first annual Gobble Wobble fun run and carnival Sunday, Nov. 20, from 1-5 p.m. on the Quad.

A registration table in front of Denny Chimes will be open for the duration of the event. Participants are asked to bring a new children’s book that will be donated to an area elementary school; there is no additional cost for the event and everyone who registers will receive a free event T-shirt.

Participants will try to estimate how many laps they can walk around the Quad in a given amount of time. The person who completes the number of laps closest to his or her estimate will win the first prize of a Nike+ SportWatch GPS. Second and third places will receive gift certificates to local outdoor and athletic stores.

Students taking RHM385 Event Leadership and Management in the UA College of Human Environmental Sciences have spent the semester organizing this family-friendly event that will feature carnival games, a moonwalk and face painting for children in addition to the fun run.
