AMSTI to Host Legislative Leadership Breakfast Oct. 24

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama Math, Science, and Technology Initiative (AMSTI), a program administered by The University of Alabama/University of West Alabama Regional In-Service Education Center, will host a Legislative Leadership Breakfast on Monday, Oct. 24, from 8–10 a.m. at the AMSTI location in Tuscaloosa (13414 Highway 69 South). Teachers and students from area AMSTI schools will demonstrate hands-on math and science learning in the classroom during the breakfast.
Larry Craven, interim state superintendent of education, will speak at 9 a.m. Area legislators, state school board members, and superintendents are expected to attend.
This event will showcase the materials, pedagogy and on-site classroom support available to participating schools through the AMSTI program. Two other statewide programs, Alabama Science in Motion and Technology in Motion, will also be highlighted.
