UA Homecoming Parade Time Set

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama Homecoming Parade will begin at noon on Saturday, Oct. 8, prior to the UA football game against Vanderbilt University at Bryant-Denny Stadium at 6 p.m.

The UA Alumni Association will hold an Alumni Tailgate Party from 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Tickets for the lunch event must be purchased in advance, and they are available online at www.bamahomecoming.eventbrite.com

Additionally, a late-registration period has been set for Homecoming Queen applications, and the registration deadline is Wednesday, Sept. 28, at 9 p.m. Homecoming Queen applications can be found at http://homecoming.ua.edu in the 2011 Red Book link on page 8 or at http://vote.ua.edu. Applications should be turned in to 356-D Ferguson Center along with the $65 registration fee.

Applicants who are approved during the late registration period may start campaigning Thursday, Sept. 29. All currently enrolled, full-time students with a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA and a total of 64 earned UA hours are eligible to apply for Homecoming Queen/Court.
