TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The University of Alabama Greek community is hosting a variety of events through April 4 for Greek Week.
“The primary goal of Greek Week 2011 is to unite the four Greek councils and to give back to the community,” said Olivia Hunnicutt, Alabama Panhellenic Association vice president.
The students will take part in pairings of chapters from all councils participating in competitions throughout the week, she says.
In addition to the events during Greek Week, each pairing is responsible for completing service hours for community organizations. And, money raised from event ticket sales will be given to local nonprofit organizations that applied for Greek Week grants.
The schedule for Greek Week 2011 includes:
Tuesday, March 29 – Theta Chi Fraternity, Basketball Tournament, 6 p.m.
Wednesday, March 30 – Sigma Nu Fraternity, Dodgeball, 7:30 p.m.
Thursday, March 31 – Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity, Greek Sing, 7 p.m.
