UA Students Select Five Seniors for Homecoming Court

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The 2010 University of Alabama Homecoming Court was chosen in a general student election held Tuesday, Oct. 12, on campus.

The following students, all seniors, were selected as members of the 2010 UA Homecoming Court:

Pandora Austin of Starkville, Miss., a psychology and advertising major, sponsored by National Pan-Hellenic Council

Chelsea Banks of Tuscaloosa, a telecommunication and film major, sponsored by Baptist Campus Ministries

Anna Foley of Richardson, Texas, an English major, sponsored by the Honors College Assembly

Shellie Street of Mobile, an accounting major, sponsored by Alpha Chi Omega Sorority

Bethany Travis of Kennesaw, Ga., a marketing major, sponsored by Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority

The 2010 UA Homecoming Queen will be announced Friday, Oct. 15, during a pep rally on the Quad beginning at 7 p.m. The queen will be crowned at halftime of the homecoming football game between Alabama and Mississippi on Saturday, Oct. 16, at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Some 8,615 votes were cast in this year’s election; voting was done online through student myBama accounts. Students also voted on open Graduate School senate seats and four optional questions related to spring programming at the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater. A total of 6,888 students responded to the optional feedback questions.
