This summer, Pair sold some $8,500 worth of advertising space in Horizons magazine – the University’s freshman orientation magazine — raising ad revenue 10 percent.
The 22-year-old student, a triple major in corporate management, professional sales and entrepreneurship, works as an account executive in the advertising department of the CW.
Horizons magazine is mailed to the permanent residence of incoming freshmen and transfer students; the publication includes need-to-know information about Tuscaloosa and the UA campus and also provides information about upcoming events for students.
Pair works closely with organizations and departments on campus selling advertising space in daily issues of the CW, and he helps them by writing proposals and developing advertising plans that fit the organizations’ needs. He has been working at the CW since June.
The University of Alabama, a student-centered research university, is experiencing significant growth in both enrollment and academic quality.
