RealtySouth’s C. Tyler Dodge Joins UA Real Estate Center’s Board of Trustees

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — C. Tyler “Ty” Dodge of Birmingham, president and chief executive officer of RealtySouth, the state’s largest real estate company, has joined the regular board of trustees of the Alabama Center for Real Estate at The University of Alabama.
Dodge, who attended the University of Virginia and graduated with honors from Furman University, is a veteran of the Alabama real estate industry. He has been with RealtySouth since 2003 and has been the firm’s regional vice president, senior vice president and chief operating officer before being named president and CEO in January.
He served in the U. S. Army as a platoon leader, 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment, in Vietnam where he earned three Bronze Stars, the Purple Heart and the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross.
He began his real estate career in Alabama in 1978 and has held a number of posts in both commercial and residential real estate. He has been active in the Birmingham Association of Realtors, where he has served on a number of committees, both as a member and as chairman. He was named Realtor of the Year in 2002.
Dodge will serve as an industry specific trustee, according to Grayson Glaze, executive director of the UA Center, known as ACRE.
