October Housing Stats Now Available on ACRE Web Site at UA

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The October 2008 monthly housing statistics compiled by the Alabama Center for Real Estate at The University of Alabama are now available on the Web site http://acre.cba.ua.edu/housing_report.php.
The Web site also provides a narrative written by Grayson M. Glaze, executive director of ACRE, which breaks down and analyzes the statistics. Home sales in Alabama in October were down 16.14 percent from September and down 23.9 percent from the same month last year.
The median selling price in October 2008 dropped by 2.7 percent compared to October 2007, and the average selling price fell 6.5 percent last month when compared to October a year ago.
The historical statistics are broken down by 23 areas and presented by month from January 1995.
