Boys State Scholarships Awarded at UA

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The University of Alabama recently hosted some 600 students at the 2008 American Legion Boys State convention and as part of the event several scholarships were given to outstanding participants.
UA awarded four scholarships to rising high school seniors who attended the conference that was held on campus earlier this month.
Scholarship recipients included:
The Judge O.L. “Pete” Johnson Scholarship for $2,000 was awarded to Boys State Gov. Daylan Woodall of Vincent, the son of James and Sarah Woodall.
The Lewis McCary Scholarship for $1,000 was awarded to Boys State Lt. Gov. Matthew Sedenik of Jacksonville, the son of Celena and Mike Willis and Stephen Sedenik.
The Charles P. Thompson Scholarship for $1,000 was awarded to Cody Walker of Dothan, the son of Greg and Donna Walker.
The Charles Hayes Scholarship for $1,000 was awarded to Jeffrey Bolan of Hazel Green, the son of Tommy and Laura Bolan.
