UA Students May Apply for First in Family SGA SPIRIT Scholarships

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Thanks to a successful student SPIRIT Campaign, The University of Alabama student body and UA’s Student Government Association will award six $2,000 SGA SPIRIT Scholarships this spring. All full-time UA students who have a minimum grade point average of 2.2 and who are the first in their immediate family to attend college are eligible to apply.
The SPIRIT Campaign is an annual student fund drive that asks UA students to make small contributions toward scholarships.
The scholarship application form is available at http://scholarships.ua.edu/current/current_app.pdf. To apply, students should fill out sections A and E of the form and then print them out, type a one-page statement outlining what their UA education has meant to them and include the highest grade level that their parents and grandparents completed and where they attended school.
