TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – A new lecture series sponsored by The University of Alabama Graduate School will give UA students, faculty and staff the opportunity to hear faculty speak on what their parting words would be if it were their last day at the Capstone.
“The Last Lecture Series” will feature a UA faculty member, nominated and selected by students, to answer one question in the form of a lecture: “If this were your last time to address a group of students, what would you say to them?” The chosen lecturer will receive a cash award from the Graduate School and have the opportunity to deliver his/her “last lecture” in a public forum. A different professor will be chosen every semester to deliver the Last Lecture.
A student committee comprised of both graduate and undergraduate students will select the featured lecturer from among those nominated by current UA students.
Nomination forms are available online at http://gradservice.aa.ua.edu/lastlecture/form.aspx.
Paper copies are also available at the Graduate School office in 102 Rose Administration.
Deadline for nominations is March 23. The first “Last Lecture” will be Monday, April 30 at 6 p.m., in 205 Gorgas Library.
Students, faculty, staff and the Tuscaloosa community are cordially invited to attend the lecture series every semester.
