UA Women’s Resource Center to Sponsor Support Group

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama Women’s Resource Center is sponsoring a 10-week education/support group entitled “Pathways to Healing” for members of the University community to explore various topics on violence against women.
There will be one group for faculty/staff which will meet on Fridays at noon beginning Feb. 24, and another group for students which will meet Thursdays at 4 p.m. beginning Feb. 23.
Topics will include cultural support of violence, disclosure, self-blame and denial, the effects of abuse and trauma, dealing with loss and grief, living with anger and depression, ways to develop coping skills and support systems, and other issues revolving around violence against women.
