Vinemont Student Named 2006 Miss UA

Lee Elizabeth Parker, a junior majoring in nursing, was named 2006 Miss University of Alabama. She is the daughter of Stanley and Beth Parker of Vinemont. She will represent UA at the Miss Alabama Pageant in Birmingham in June 2006. Parker, who transferred to UA from Wallace State Community College, will promote the platform “Stop Bullying Now,” a program for grades K-12; her talent area is vocal performance. The Miss UA Program is sponsored by the UA National Alumni Association. This year’s program was held on campus Dec. 10 with 22 students competing for the title. Miss UA receives a full tuition scholarship for her year of service, book scholarships and other gifts.
