TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Due to inclement weather, The University of Alabama chapter of Circle K has rescheduled the lighting of luminaries on the Quad to Sunday, Dec. 11, from 5-9 p.m.

The annual event raises money for the William D. Partlow Developmental Center. Donations are given by local businesses and individuals. The money raised is used to buy gifts for the residents of the center.

Paper bags are filled with sand and candles on the morning of the event. Later that day, the same volunteers will place the bags along the sidewalks of the UA Quad and light the candles.

For more information on the holiday luminary event, contact Caitlin Knowles of UA Circle K at knowl005@bama.ua.edu.
