TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama Community Service Center will have a Beat Auburn Beat Hunger tent at Kickoff on the Quad on Saturday, Nov. 12, from 11 a.m. until kickoff of the Alabama vs. LSU football game.

Volunteers will be collecting non-perishable food items and donations for the 12th annual Beat Auburn Beat Hunger food drive.

The UA goal this year is to collect 100,000 pounds of food, a huge increase from the 67,708 pounds that UA collected last year. UA students, alumni and fans, and the Tuscaloosa community are working hard to ‘can’ Auburn by donating non-perishable food items, event organizers note.

Beat Auburn Beat Hunger ends on Nov.17, the Thursday before the Iron Bowl.

The Beat Auburn Beat Hunger Food Fight is an annual service competition between the student bodies of UA and Auburn University. This year, donations will also benefit hurricane victims.
