Update Advisory Concerning Hurricane Katrina from
Provost Judy Bonner

The University of Alabama will re-open for normal hours on Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2005 and classes will resume as normally scheduled. Staff members should report at their regularly scheduled time on Wednesday unless they have been notified otherwise by their supervisor.

The Student Recreation Center has been designated an emergency shelter by the American Red Cross and is being used temporarily to house hurricane evacuees. It is not available for recreational use during this time of emergency need in the community. See http://urec.sa.ua.edu/ for additional information.

OTHER ANNOUNCEMENTS:

BRYANT CONFERENCE CENTER: Due to impending bad weather from Hurricane Katrina, the Bryant Conference Center’s client appreciation reception, originally scheduled for Tuesday August 30, has been re-scheduled for Thursday September 8, from 4:30 p.m. – 6 p.m. For more information, please call 205-348-8600.
