Financial Workshop for College Students Set for April 21

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – “Money Matters,” a free how-to workshop for college students presented by University of Alabama students, will be held Thursday, April 21, at 2 p.m., in 104 Doster Hall on the UA campus.

The one-hour workshop, sponsored by the UA College of Human Environmental Sciences’ Consumer Sciences department and the Capstone Financial Planning Association, will cover topics such as budgeting, investing, debt management, and financing major purchases. Refreshments including dessert and coffee will be provided.

UA’s College of Human Environmental Sciences, established in 1917, offers degrees in apparel and textile, athletic training, consumer sciences, early childhood development, financial planning and counseling, food and nutrition, family and consumer science education, health studies, human development and family studies and interior design. The College is well known for its comprehensive approach to higher education. Students seeking degrees in professional service industries are well served by its academic programs, classroom instruction, real-world experience and mentoring by seasoned faculty.
