April 26 UA Panel Discussion on Tsunami to Offer International Perspective on Tragedy

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – A panel discussion on the devastating Asian Tsunami will be held on The University of Alabama campus Tuesday, April 26, at noon in the Ferguson Center Forum.

Panelists for “The Asian Tsunami: Four Months Afterward” will include Dr. John Waits, a practicing family physician from Tuscaloosa/Centreville who participated in a disaster relief effort in Indonesia; Sari Faizah, a UA student from Indonesia; Dibya Singh, president of the Tuscaloosa chapter of Friends of India Association; and Marcia McIntosh, director of disaster services for the Red Cross of West Alabama.

The UA International Education Committee is sponsoring the event that is free and open to the public.
