TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama College of Communication and Information Sciences Student Executive Council will hold its annual Silent Auction on Thursday, March 17, from 7 a.m.-4 p.m. in the rotunda of Reese Phifer Hall.

The Silent Auction will be held to raise money for the SEC’s “Students Helping Students” scholarship, awarded annually to a freshman in C&IS who is need of financial assistance.

The auction will include art work, wine glasses, a month of gymnastics lessons from an Alabama gymnastics coach, movie and restaurant certificates. Various theme baskets, such as a Book Lovers Basket, Crimson Tide Basket, Pet Lovers Basket and a Date Night Basket will also be up for bid.

The C&IS Student Executive Council was founded in 1996 as an effort to get more students involved in the decision-making policies of the college. As such, the SEC exists to coordinate the organizations within the college, to increase the relations among the students, faculty and alumni of the college, and to serve as a place for students to voice their concerns about the college.
