TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The Coordinating Council for Student Organizations at The University of Alabama has named the Honors Program Student Association as the Student Organization of the Month for February.

HPSA is an organization designed to give academic, social and service opportunities to all students within the UA Honors College. With more than 250 members, HPSA has been able to accomplish many of its goals over the past year and has made significant contributions to the Tuscaloosa community.

HPSA has been focusing on service projects, including their recent addition of Final Fridays. On the last Friday of every month, HPSA volunteers visit Northington Elementary School in Tuscaloosa where they serve as mentors to the 4th and 5th grade students. HPSA’s spring projects also include a clean up day at Crestmont Elementary School and the sponsorship of a team in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.

CCSO extends congratulations to the members of HPSA for their effort on campus and in the community. For more information, contact Allie Esslinger, HPSA president, at 256/468-2693 or essli001@bama.ua.edu.
