UA Women’s Resource Center to Hold Brown Bag Lunch Events

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama Women’s Resource Center is sponsoring Brown Bag Lunch Fridays in the Ferguson Forum from noon-1:15 p.m. on the following dates:

  • Friday, Jan. 30, the film “Standing On My Sister’s Shoulders,” a moving portrait of the courageous women who became grassroots leaders of the U.S. Civil Rights Movement in Mississippi, will be shown and followed with discussion.
  • Friday, Feb. 6, the film “Mighty Times: the Legacy of Rosa Parks” from the Southern Poverty Law Center that sheds new light on the Montgomery bus boycotts, Rosa Parks and the Civil Rights Movement, will be shown and followed with discussion.

The public is invited and encouraged to bring a lunch to these free events.
