Hebson Named Associate Dean of Students at UA

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Dr. Tim S. Hebson has been named associate dean of students at The University of Alabama, Dr. Tom Strong, UA dean of students, announced today.

Hebson joined UA in August 2002 as director of student judicial affairs. Strong said he will continue to serve in that role while assuming additional responsibilities as associate dean.

“Tim Hebson has done an excellent job managing judicial affairs during the last year. We are looking forward to his continued leadership as associate dean,” Strong said.

Prior to joining UA, Hebson served as director of student activities at the University of Montevallo for 11 years. His position at Montevallo included working with the Student Government Association, Leadership Montevallo, Panhellenic, Interfraternity Council, the Student Union Building, judicial affairs and numerous student organizations.

Hebson has also served as assistant director of student activities at Auburn University and in several positions at Samford University, including director of the Beeson University Center and coordinator of leisure-time activities, and director of student enrichment.

Hebson earned his doctorate of education in higher education administration at UA in 1996. He also received his master’s degree in education at Samford in 1983 and his bachelor’s degree in psychology at Mobile College in 1981.
