Media Advisory — UA to Announce Major Gift July 18

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The University of Alabama will announce a major gift to the College of Engineering on Thursday, July 18, at 11:30 a.m., in the main lobby of the Alabama Institute for Manufacturing Excellence (AIME) building, on the UA campus.
The announcement will include details of one of the largest estate gifts in the history of the University.
The media is invited, and there will opportunities for questions. A lunch will follow at noon in the Executive Meeting Room of the AIME building, and a tour of the College of Engineering will begin at 12:45 p.m. Media representatives are welcome to attend the lunch and participate in the tour.
Speakers will include UA Interim President J. Barry Mason; Jeff McNeill, vice president for University advancement; Dr. Timothy J. Greene, dean of the College of Engineering; and Carl Jones Jr., president and COO of Regions Bank. Family members of the donor are also planning to attend.
