UA Alumni Association Offers 2002 Tour Program

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The University of Alabama National Alumni Association will present tours this summer to Sicily, Spain and Tuscany.
Alumni Campus Abroad is offered to UA alumni and provides an educational experience in an international environment that promotes learning, recreation and fellowship. The tours are all-inclusive, with air, accommodations, meals, excursions and educational content combined into one price.
Trips for 2002 include:
June 15-24 — “Alumni College on the Fabled Island of Sicily.” The largest of the Mediterranean islands, Sicily is located centrally in the crossroads of Europe and Africa. Witness a melting pot of ancient cultures as you explore two of the best-preserved Greek temples in the world and view Mt. Etna, Europe’s largest and highest active volcano.
July 2-10 — “Alumni College in Tuscany.” Home to fascinating history, rich artistic and architectural masterpieces and picturesque scenery, Tuscany is a perfect backdrop for this unique travel and learning opportunity. Immerse yourself in the culture of a typical Tuscan village, exploring the countryside, sampling fine Chianti wines and viewing historic works of art.
July 8-16 — “Alumni College in Spain.” Step back into the Middle Ages in this historic part of Spain, Andalucia, full of Moorish history and culture. Discover the rich architectural treasures such as the Grand Mosque of Cordoba and the world-famous Alhambra of Granada. Also meet the friendly people and sample the diverse foods of this land as you learn and explore with fellow alumni.
