UA to Host Alabama Scholastic Press Association Convention Feb. 22-23

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The University of Alabama will host the Alabama Scholastic Press Association’s annual state convention Feb. 22-23.
High school journalism students and teachers from across the state will take part in newspaper, literary magazine, yearbook, broadcast, photography and desktop publishing sessions and competitions.
The Alabama high school journalist, adviser and administrator of the year will be announced, as well as the results of the ASPA’s annual critique competition. The Alabama high school journalist of the year will receive the $2,500 J.B. Stevenson Scholarship at the ceremony.
The convention fee is $40 for ASPA members and $50 for non-members. Registration will begin at 9 a.m. on Feb. 22 in the Ferguson Center Theatre. The workshop fee includes a karaoke and pizza party Friday night and a continental breakfast on Saturday.
