UA Law School Holds Informational Session to Debate Constitutional Reform

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – A debate and open forum on Alabama Constitutional reform will be held on Monday, Feb. 11, at noon at The University of Alabama School of Law.

R. Sidney McAnnally of the Alabama Citizens for Constitutional Reform and Gary Palmer, the president of Alabama Policy Institute will speak. Pam Huff, a special assignment anchor for ABC 33/40 News, will monitor the informational session. After a presentation of the issues by Huff and a debate by McAnnally and Palmer, Huff will open the program for questions from the audience.

The program will be held in the Moot Court Room (room 140).

“The Alabama Constitution affects everyone living in Alabama every day of their lives,” Pam Bucy, Bainbridge Professor of Law and director of the Public Interest Institute, said. The Public Interest Institute is an organization that gives UA law students opportunities to do community service projects and pro bono legal work while they are in law school

The program is sponsored by the Public Interest Institute of the UA School of Law, along with the Tuscaloosa League of Women Voters and the Tuscaloosa Junior League. The public is welcome.
